Residential
Residential services provide a spectrum of support—from standard daily living skills training to intensive behavioral and medical care

1. Residential Habilitation

  • Standard Residential Habilitation
    Offers supervision and structured training to help participants develop daily living skills such as personal hygiene, meal prep, housekeeping, laundry, and social/adaptive skills. Services follow a formal plan aligned to each individual’s support goals.
  • Behavior-Focused Residential Habilitation

    Tailored for individuals with behavioral challenges. Provided in APD-licensed facilities with specialized staff trained in behavior analysis, led by professionals (BCBA or licensed clinicians), focusing on improving behavior and fostering community reintegration.
  • Intensive Behavior Residential Habilitation

    For individuals facing more significant behavioral issues requiring a higher level of support. Aimed at expanding adaptive functioning and maximizing community participation.
  • Enhanced Intensive Behavior Residential Habilitation

    For those with exceptionally challenging behaviors not manageable in prior tiers. Intensive programming works toward independent living and healthier lifestyle outcomes.

2. Residential Nursing & Therapy

  • Residential Nursing Services

    Delivered by RNs or LPNs in licensed facilities, including during community activities. Supports individuals with significant medical needs.
  • Special Medical Home Care & Respiratory Therapy

    Reserved for individuals with complex medical conditions. Services are provided in licensed foster or group homes and can include continuous nursing or therapy by professionals per medical orders.

3. Group / Foster Homes

  • APD-Licensed Group Homes

    Serve individuals with developmental disabilities, with a maximum of typically 3–5 residents. Offer comprehensive services including housing, meals, supervision, medication administration, personal care, transportation, and activities of daily living.
  • Licensing & Oversight

    State-licensed group homes undergo monthly APD inspections (announced or unannounced) to ensure compliance with Chapter 393 Florida statutes. Staff must pass Level II background screening.

4. Provider Qualifications & Staffing

  • Required Owner Experience

    Providers (facility owners/operators) must be ≥ 18 years old with relevant experience (medical, psychiatric, childcare, developmental disabilities, or specified education).
  • Required Staff Experience

    Direct-care staff must meet similar age and experience standards; behavior-focused programs require behavior analysts and in-service training (20 hours minimum), documentation, and emergency training protocols.
