Personal Supports: Overview & Purpose

Personal Supports assist adults (21+) who live in their own or family homes. The service is designed to help with activities of daily living (ADLs)—including eating, bathing, dressing, hygiene, and meal prep—as well as light household chores and community access when unpaid caregivers aren't available.

  • Also supports community integration by enabling participation in activities outside the home.

  • In supported living arrangements, it's tailored to teach home-related responsibilities, like cleaning, laundry, and organization.

Respite Care Also falls under the Personal Supports category for recipients under 21, providing short-term relief or emergency caregiving.
